Dearest Family, Friends and Partners,
It is our constant cry to the Lord that He show us how to adequately speak out, and or convey, our love and appreciation to you for your faithful and loving support of this work here in Zimbabwe. From the bottom of our hearts Maxine and I want to say, as did the apostle Paul, to the people of Thessalonica; ‘We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and Father, knowing, beloved brethren, your election by God.” And thank you again for your continued loving, financial support of the different outreaches and needy areas across Zimbabwe that you enable us to affect for Jesus. Please know too, that we are in much prayer about your whole situation there, from Whitehouse resignations to floods in different parts of the country. Come, Lord Jesus, come…! God is undoubtedly preparing us for His return and on no part of this globe will people be able to say, ‘Lord, where were Your warning signs….!’
FOOD FOR THE NATION
Please hold before God the desperate need of an estimated 2,000,000 people across this country who face death, by starvation, before March 2011. There is a concentrated, combined effort by many churches here, called The Trumpet Call, to encourage every Christian in the country to plant a 25meter by 25 meter area to maize (corn) using the Foundations For Farming (the old Farming God’s Way) methods which through past experience and results, have proved that, if this were done responsibly and reliably, not a person in the country would starve.
Renewal are fully behind and supporting this nation-wide effort and we thank you for your prayerful support, that seed is available and that where organic manures are not available, suitable fertilizers would be, from local stores and shopping outlets.
Please pray also, that we have the resources to touch as many parts of the country as possible with this program and prove to the nation that God is able to provide when His children hear His instructions and apply them! Thank You Lord…! Yes, a nation can have hugely viable manufacturing, industrial and mining sectors but if no food is available and we are not producing it, especially in a country that has such wonderful agricultural potential, millions will die…!
TRUMPET CALL
On Saturday 25th October, Angus Buchan, “The Faith Like Potatoes” minister came and shared with folks in Harare and then the next day he also spoke at the Trumpet call.
On Sunday 26th October churches from around the nation came together for a “Trumpet Call” service; - many people from around the world were praying for Zimbabwe on this day. Dave did the service in Kadoma which is one of the centers where churches came together to lift up Jesus. It was a historic moment for the nation.
A BLESSING OF NOTE
Following this on the 29th October, our local One Concert group, who our daughter Adele is a member of, invited and hosted Nicole C Mullen, the US gospel singer and song writer who wrote that lovely chorus, ‘My Redeemer Lives,’ to do a one night, open air, gospel concert here in Harare. The concert was held at the Racecourse and according to the Newspaper 2000 folks attended PTL. Nicole won the hearts of every person who attended and blew them all away when she sang My Redeemer Lives in ‘Shona’, the local language of the people here. What a warm hearted and lovely spirited lady, we know the evening of worship and praise was a blessing to our Lord.
We do stand amazed at what the Lord is doing in Zimbabwe and all the folks he is sending back to this wonderful country. We are watching, with excitement, at His solution to what in the natural is a mess……..
In His Love,
